Archive Note
Chris Nunez (Christopher Nunez, of Cuban descent, born 11 April 1973) is an American tattoo artist, television personality, and entrepreneur from Miami. He came up through graffiti before apprenticing at a local Miami shop, and spent extended time abroad, reported as roughly eight years including about five years in Brazil, before returning to the United States. With Ami James he co-founded the Miami Beach shop, first called 305 Ink and then Love Hate Tattoos, that became the setting for TLC's Miami Ink (2005 to 2008), one of the programs that carried tattooing to mainstream television. He is best known beyond that show as a primary judge on Ink Master, appearing in every episode of the original run from 2012 to 2020 alongside host Dave Navarro. He works in a bold, illustrative, custom register and later opened the Handcrafted gallery and tattoo space in the Miami area.
