Ascension Tattoo, 832 N Mills Ave, Orlando, Florida, USA (from Detroit)

Jime Litwalk is a new-school tattooer based in Orlando, Florida, one of the senior figures of the style, known for animated, illustrative, color-driven work. A Southwest Detroit native, he was a longtime Hart and Huntington Las Vegas artist and the runner-up of Ink Master season 3.

Archive Note

Litwalk grew up in Southwest Detroit, wanting as a child to be a Disney animator, and came up as an airbrush artist while working next to a tattoo shop before taking on a demanding apprenticeship in which he spent about two years learning before he was allowed to tattoo. His career grew after he moved to Las Vegas to work at Hart and Huntington, Carey Hart's studio, where he worked for around six years and appeared on reality programs including The Real World, Nitro Circus, and The Hills. His best-known exposure came on Spike's Ink Master: approached as a guest judge, he was instead asked to compete and finished as runner-up of the third season, which aired in 2013 and was won by Joey Hamilton; he returned for the seventh season, Ink Master: Revenge, and the Merry Ink special. His style is new-school, cartoon and animation-derived imagery in vivid saturated color, and he currently tattoos at Ascension Tattoo on Mills Avenue in Orlando while traveling to conventions internationally.
