Born in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, Yomico developed his realism style in Venezuela, beginning his professional career in Valencia around 2005 and gaining recognition by winning local conventions in Caracas. In 2010 he won first prizes for Best Color and Best Realism at the international convention in Denmark, an early international breakthrough, and in 2015 he moved to New York at the invitation of Paul Booth to join the Last Rites Tattoo Theater. He later founded and now owns 1983 Art Studio in Brooklyn. His work is hyperreal and painterly, often described as Renaissance-influenced in its handling of light and shadow, working prominently in color as well as black-and-grey, and his reported clients include Dwayne Johnson.
