Arkivnote
Tony Ciavarro is a new-school tattooer known for bright, bold, cartoony color work. In the spring of 2001 he opened Stinky Monkey Tattoos in the center of Kingston, Massachusetts, at 70 Summer Street, the same year tattooing became legal in the state after the 1962 Massachusetts ban was struck down in October 2000 and lapsed in 2001, and he has run it since with a rotating roster of artists. Alongside the shop he owns Slowdown Clothing, launched in 2011, a Stinky Lil Monkey children's line, and a Stinky Monkey brand line, and he produces art books, prints, and sticker packs.
