Dokezo la Kumbukumbu
Antonio came up through the early-1990s Buenos Aires rock scene, found he lacked the musical talent to be a musician, and turned to tattooing, building his own first machine and practicing his earliest designs on a friend and on his own ankle. He founded American Tattoo in 1992, and a 2017 feature said he had been tattooing for 27 years at that point. American Tattoo is the center of his public identity, a multi-story Buenos Aires studio, and his profile is built substantially on a high-profile clientele, most famously his work with Diego Maradona, whom he tattooed after being brought in by Dalma Maradona, along with a roster of Argentine entertainers and musicians. He came up in the lineage of Cacho Villafanes, a foundational figure of professional Argentine tattooing, and he is not tied to a single named style.
